COD Men's Golf: Condolences - Tony Manzoni (1936 - 2018)

The following message is an official press release from the Office of Public Information from College of the Desert:

Dear COD Family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of emeritus faculty member Tony Manzoni, who passed away last weekend.

Manzoni was the head men's golf coach at College of the Desert for 29 years (1987-2016). During that time, his teams earned an impressive five State Championship Titles (1990, 1995, 1998, 2004 and 2012), he also garnered 28 Conference Championships. He first started with the College in 1986, heading up the golf management program.

In May of this year, Manzoni was inducted into the California Community College Men's Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Manzoni is survived by his wife, Camille, and a daughter and two grandchildren.

Visitation and a remembrance service will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City. Visitation will start at 4 p.m., with services beginning at 5 p.m.
