COD Women’s Tennis has claimed the #5 seed and will travel to Santa Clarita to take on the #4 seeded College of the Canyons Cougars in the Southern California Quarterfinals.

State Playoffs Ticket Prices are as follows: General Admission is $12. Faculty, Staff, Children Under 12, Adults 60+ & Students w/ Valid A.S. card are $8. The game will take place on the campus of College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita and will begin April 5th at 2 p.m.
Under the tutelage of first year head coach Yuliya Bourim, the #5 seeded Roadrunners Women's Tennis team ended the 2022 season claiming the South Coast Conference singles title as the team finished the year with a 5-3 overall record and a 5-2 conference record. They were rewarded with the #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs.
Desert will face off with a Canyons Cougars team that finished the regular season with a record of 13-2, the Cougars ended the 2022 season as champions of the Western State Conference (WSC) with a record of 12-0. The Cougars did not have a team singles or doubles which got into the semifinals of the WSC Tournament.
College of the Canyons finished the 2019 season in third place of the WSC-West with a record of 9-5, with an overall record of 9-7. This is the Vaqueros first trip to the playoffs since the program was added in the 2018 season. The Cougars are coached by Patty LaBat.
The winner of Tuesday's first-round contest will advance to face the winner of No. 7 Bakersfield Renegades and No. 2 Riverside City Tigers on Tuesday, April 12. Three wins are needed to advance to the CCCAA State Team Final on April 23rd at the Bakersfield Racquet Club in Bakersfield.
