Jon Tessier
Assistant pitching coach
Jon Tessier enters third season as the Roadrunners’ Assistant Pitching Coach, bringing a diverse background in collegiate athletics, player development, and baseball operations. Born in Lemoore, California, and raised in Florida and San Diego, Tessier adds a broad geographic and baseball perspective to the Roadrunners staff. In addition to his role with the Roadrunners, he also serves as an Assistant Baseball Coach for the California Post-Graduate Baseball Program, working closely with athletes preparing for collegiate opportunities.
Tessier has gained valuable behind-the-scenes experience in baseball operations and recruiting, having interned in Ballpark Operations with the Palm Springs Power and the Palm Springs Collegiate League. He has also worked in collegiate athletic recruiting with The Athletic Academy and SportsForce Baseball, giving him insight into the recruiting process and player placement at the next level.
A native of San Diego, Tessier graduated as an Islander from Coronado High School, where he was a key contributor on the mound. During his junior season, he played a pivotal role in closing out the CIF Division III Championship game, showcasing his poise in high-pressure situations.
Tessier continued his playing career with the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College (NCAA Division III) in Quincy, Massachusetts. There, he emerged as a leader of the Lions’ pitching staff, helping guide the program to back-to-back New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship appearances in 2022 and 2023. His collegiate career was highlighted by multiple All-Conference selections and Academic All-Conference honors in all four seasons, reflecting excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Among his standout performances, Tessier earned the first victory over a nationally ranked opponent in program history, throwing nine complete innings in a 7–1 win.
Tessier earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College. His combination of competitive playing experience, academic achievement, and recruiting knowledge allows him to contribute meaningfully to the development of Roadrunners pitchers, both athletically and professionally.
