Robert Romero

Robert Romero heads into his 4th season leading the Roadrunners. Coach Romero's teams have improved their records each season under his stewardship. A Coachella Valley native graduate from Palm Desert High School (2012), he attended Grossmont College in El Cajon where he was a 2x All-PCAC. After Grossmont College he received an athletic scholarship to Western Colorado University. After his junior year he transferred and played for the #1 ranked NAIA team in the nation and went on to get his bachelor’s degree in Business-Sports Management from Mid-America Christian University (OK).
Desert has accumulated multiple wins under the leadership of Coach Romero and multiple All-Conference selections.
Following his college career, Coach Romero moved back to the Coachella Valley and was hired on as an assistant coach for two years at College of the Desert. During the 2021-2022 season he was named Interim head coach. Beginning with the 2022-2023, Coach Romero was named as Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
