After navigating a challenging and competitive non-conference schedule, the Roadrunners carried that momentum into conference play, finishing nine strokes ahead of conference rival Victor Valley in ideal playing conditions with temperatures in the high 60s and partly cloudy skies.
COD placed four golfers inside the top 10 and had two players finish tied for second individually with even-par rounds.
Sophomore Logan Marra (Palm Desert HS) fired a season-low even-par 72 to tie for second place. Teammate Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen, Sweden / Fredrika Bremer Gymnasiet) matched Marra with an even-par 72, marking his second-best round of the season and also earning a share of second place.
Sophomore Braxton McDonald (Coldstream, BC / Kalamalka Secondary) continued his strong play, carding a 1-over 73 to finish tied for fourth—matching his second-best round of the season.
Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta HS) posted a 3-over 75, his third-best score of the year, finishing tied for ninth, while Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert HS) shot a 4-over 76 to tie for 11th, also matching his third-best round of the season.
Rounding out the Roadrunners lineup, Phar Vincent (Palm Desert / Xavier College Preparatory) recorded a season-best 5-over 77 to finish tied for 13th.
College of the Desert will continue Orange Empire Conference play Wednesday when the Roadrunners travel to The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto for the next conference event, scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
