COD Men's Golf rolls through Conference play as Roadrunners place second in their third Conference event of the season, with Mason Montgomery finishing tied for 2nd place individually.
The Roadrunners sent six participants to their seventh event of the 2026 season, and their third event in Orange Empire Conference play, which was hosted at the Costa Mesa Country Club's Los Lagos Course. Desert would finish with 282 points, putting them in 2nd place, 15-strokes ahead of third place Riverside City Tigers.
The Roadrunners tackled this event with fervor. Sophomore Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert HS) played his best round of golf all season, dropping 3 strokes from his previous season low and snagging a 3-under 69 to claim a tied second place finish individually. Sophomore Phar Vincent (Palm Desert / Xavier College Preparatory) struck with a vengeance, nailing a season low 1-under 71. Sophomore Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta HS) tied his season low, with a 2-under 70. With Sophomores Braxton McDonald (Coldstream, BC / Kalamalka Secondary) and Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen, Sweden / Fredrika Bremer Gymnasiet) tying for their 2nd best scores of the season, both shooting for a par 72. Sophomore Logan Marra (Palm Desert HS) would also tie his best score of the season, shooting an 3-over 75 to wrap up the afternoon for the Roadrunners.
COD will make their next appearance at the Victoria Country Club in Riverside on Monday, March 23 at 7:30am as they play their forth Orange Empire Conference match of the 2026 season.
