2025 Season in Review - COD Men’s Soccer
Under the leadership of fourth-year head coach Manuel “Pato” Hurtado, the College of the Desert men’s soccer team wrapped up the 2025 season with a 5-11-5 overall record and a 4-5-1 mark in Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) play, finishing fifth in the conference standings.

The Roadrunners delivered several memorable performances throughout the season, including sweeping the Chaffey Panthers for the first time since 2021 and one of the most dominant victories in program history, an emphatic 11-1 win over the Imperial Valley Desert Warriors.
Several Roadrunners earned postseason recognition for their standout play. Sophomore midfielder Hector Baltierra (La Quinta H.S.) was named First Team All-IEAC and earned 3CSCA South All-Region honors. Baltierra, known as "D," continued his ascent after being named Second Team All-IEAC as a freshman. He finished among the conference's statistical leaders, ranking third in total goals (9) and fourth in total points (20).
Sophomore midfielder Destry Lanza (Beaumont H.S.) earned Second Team All-IEAC honors after tying for second in the conference with eight assists.
Sophomore forward Isai Gil (Beaumont H.S.) was selected Honorable Mention All-IEAC. Gil was perfect from the penalty spot (2-for-2) and tied for second on the team in game-winning goals.
Sophomore midfielder Gerardo Montellano (Indio H.S.) also earned Honorable Mention All-IEAC recognition, finishing the season with three goals and two assists.
On the defensive end, sophomore defenders Emiliano Dominguez (Rancho Mirage H.S.) and Jeffrey Vazquez (Thermal – Desert Mirage), along with freshman defender Sergio Gomez-Bustos (Indio – Shadow Hills), were each named Honorable Mention All-IEAC.
