COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 17th at Mt. SAC Invitational

Desert moved onto their fifth event of the 2016 season at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut for the Mt. SAC Invitational, where the team finished 17th overall on the 4 mile course.

The Roadrunners finished with 461 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in Walnut was freshman Hakan Larssen (Temecula Great Oak) improved 20.5 seconds over last week's finish time, collecting a 74th place finish and a time of 24:08.0.

Finishing a strong 86th place and dropping 45.7 seconds off of his previous best was freshman Bryan Meyers (La Quinta H.S.) who collected a time of 25:05.7 and sophomore Juan Angel Perez (Palm Desert H.S.), who crossed the finish line at 25:46.1, good enough for 92nd place.

Freshman Jesus Garcia (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) wrapped up a 103rd place finish with a time of 27:44.5, and sophomore Isaiah Casillas (La Quinta H.S.) wrapped up the top five for Desert with a time of 27:56.7, which was 1:36 better than his previous best, finishing in 106th place.

Freshman David Gonzalez-Silva (Cathedral City H.S.) and freshman Jose Verdejo (Córdoba (Spain) I.E.S. Seneca) finished 108th and 109th for the Roadrunners on the afternoon. Gonzalez-Silva dropped an impressive 2:04.6 off of last week's finish time.
