COD Men’s Cross Country finishes 6th at Coach Downey XC Classic
COD entered their fourth event of the 2017 season at Balboa Park in San Diego for the Coach Downey XC Classic, where the team finished 6th overall on the 4 mile course.

COD entered their fourth event of the 2017 season at Balboa Park in San Diego for the Coach Downey XC Classic, where the team finished 6th overall on the 4 mile course.
The Roadrunners finished with 154 points, grabbing the top spot for Desert in San Diego was freshman David Hernandez (La Quinta H.S.), collecting a 27th place finish and a time of 23:29.5, dropping 2:48 from his previous best time.
Right behind was sophomore Jesus Garcia (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) who finished 28th, collecting a time of 23:48.7 dropping 1:08 from his previous best time, and sophomore Bryan Meyers (La Quinta H.S.), who crossed the finish line at 24:31.7, besting his time by 1:13 and good enough for 31st place.
Freshman Christian Cardoza (Cathedral City H.S.) wrapped up a 32nd place finish with a time of 24:42.8, 1:58 faster than his previous best and freshman Christopher Figueroa (Thermal Coachella Valley) wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 26:37.6, finishing 1:23 faster than his previous best, placing 36th.
Sophomore Albert Blanco (Palm Springs H.S.) finished 38th for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
