2023 COD Softball News
COD (15-15; 9-6) celebrated their eight sophomore players by busting up a four-game losing streak to wrap up the 2023 season, as the Roadrunners punished the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville (1-19; 1-14) 8-0 in 5 innings.
COD (11-10) have won 6 of their last 7 games and moved back to above .500 for the season, as the Roadrunners received some timely hitting and dynamic defense, sweeping the Glendale Vaqueros (6-20-1), 5-2 and 9-4.
COD (7-9; 5-1) took a commanding lead in the Conference standings with a double header sweep of the Chaffey Panthers of Rancho Cucamonga (8-10; 2-2), 1-0 and 4-3.
COD (5-7; 3-1) was left frustrated after a narrow game one loss, then turned their fortunes around in game two, splitting a Conference double header with the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of Menifee (6-10; 1-1), 0-2 & 2-1.
COD (0-5) fought back in the fifth, sending 13 batters to the plate, scoring 8 runs, including a 3-run home run by Amaya Magana, but a late rally by the visitors was the difference as the Roadrunners fell to the Saddleback Bobcats of Mission Viejo (4-4), 12-9.
College of the Desert Softball has hired La Quinta High School alumnus, Kelli Finan to helm the Roadrunners program.
