Kelli Finan
Head Softball Coach
In just three seasons at the helm, Head Coach Kelli Finan has steadily elevated the Roadrunners softball program, guiding the team to 42 wins while developing 12 All-Conference selections along with multiple honorable mentions. Her leadership reflects a strong blend of competitive experience, player development, and academic commitment.
A Southern California native, Finan was a standout at La Quinta High School from 2011–2015 before beginning her collegiate career at Long Beach State. As a freshman in 2016, she earned Big West All-Freshman Team honors after leading the 49ers in conference batting with a .314 average while primarily playing right field. She helped power Long Beach State to an NCAA Tournament appearance, competing in the Eugene Regional.
Finan later continued her playing career at Creighton University, where she earned her degree in Sociology in 2020. During the 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Bluejays, she hit .310 (71-for-229) with 10 home runs and a team-leading 57 RBIs. Known for her versatility, she played multiple infield positions as well as the outfield. In 2020, she transitioned into a leadership role as a student coach under Head Coach Brent Vigness.
Her coaching path then took her to the University of South Dakota (NCAA Division I), where she served as a Graduate Assistant while earning a master’s degree in Kinesiology and Sport Management (2021–2022). She further expanded her coaching experience in 2022 at the University of Saint Katherine (NAIA) in San Marcos, California, helping guide the Firebirds to a school-record 19 wins.
Coach Finan brings a player-first philosophy, defensive versatility expertise, and Division I postseason experience to the Roadrunners program as she continues building a competitive and resilient culture.
