COD Women’s Golf Earns 3rd Place at Mt. SAC Invitational, Castro Finishes 12th
The College of the Desert women’s golf team turned in a strong performance at their second event of the 2025 season, finishing third overall at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational, held in Chino.
The College of the Desert women's golf team turned in a strong performance at their second event of the 2025 season, finishing third overall at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational, held in Chino. Freshman Daisy Castro (La Quinta H.S.) led the Roadrunners with a 12th-place individual finish.
The event took place at El Prado Golf Course - Butterfield Stage Course in Chino. The field featured top competition, including three programs from last year's CCCAA Women's Golf State Championship, highlighted by the defending State Champions. COD rose to the challenge, posting a team score of 426, finishing 22 strokes ahead of the fourth-place Fullerton Hornets. The Orange Coast Pirates of Costa Mesa captured the team title with a score of 310.
Castro paced Desert with a round of 87, while freshman Jiiana Cordova (Rancho Mirage H.S.) carded a 91. Sophomore Myah Urquidez (Banning H.S.) finished with a 112, and freshman Jenítza Perez (La Quinta H.S.) rounded out the Roadrunner scores with a 136.
Next up, COD opens Orange Empire Conference play on Monday, September 15 at 11 a.m. at the Mesa Linda Course at Costa Mesa Country Club.
