Palm Desert -Coach Garrett Estrin was excited with his teams start in their first home conference match of the season against Mira Costa College. Madison Decker scored COD's 1st goal in just the 2nd minute, after Alyssa Meza stole the ball from a MCC defender to set up Decker's goal. In the 37th minute Cynthia Hernandez slotted a shot from far left side of the 18 yard box into opposite low corner to put the Roadrunners up 2-0, before halftime. The second half was a stalemate, until the 75th minute when Mira Costa got on the board by converting a foul in the box for a goal off a Penalty Kick. With the roadrunners clinging to a one goal lead, the final 15 minutes saw both teams with scoring opportunities. Britney Vargas solid play in goal would hold up as she would finish the game with 7 saves.
