Women's Soccer: COD 7 at West Hills Lemoore 1

The 1st match of the season was tough but after covering 720miles of driving from So Cal to the Coast & the central part of the state, we ended it on a high note! A 7 - 1 victory over West Hills Lemoore (which 30min west of Visalia). The match started with the 1st collegiate Goals by Jianna Guerrero in the 12 & 19th minute which kick started us (no pun), with both Assist going to Melita Pena. After a WHL goal, we woke up & added a 3rd with Hen Pena scoring her 1st college goal from 25yds out chipping the keeper off her line. In the 2nd half Vicky Vasquez got her 1st collegiate goal in the 57th minute off a cross from Melita Pena. In the 62nd minute Lizzie Trujillo would notch her 1st college goal, assist once again Melita Pena, in the 65th minute Vasquez would again score after a steal from M. Pena and thru ball to Vasquez. The scoring for the day would end on a very nice free kick from 20yds out with Analise Anzaldua scoring her 1st college goal sending the ball over the wall past a diving Goalkeeper! Maranda Palmer started the match in the net giving up 1 goal, Maira Fuentes would finish the final 45 with a clean sheet in net.
