Women's Volleyball Improves to 5-1 in Foothill Competition
PALM DESERT Calif. - College of the Desert women's volleyball improved to 5-1 in the Foothill Conference with their 3-1 (25-12, 25-13, 26-28, 25-18) triumph over visiting Cerro Coso on Wednesday night in Palm Desert.

Sophomore Alyssa Cazares (Indio, CA/Shadow Hills HS) and freshman Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert, CA/Palm Desert HS) combined to lead the way for the Lady Roadrunners with six kills each, while sophomore Shavonne Lascelle (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS) added five kills. Sophomore Yajaira Lopez (Desert Hot Springs, CA/DHSHS) knocked down one kill to go along with six total blocks (one solo, five assist).
Sophomore Maygan Zink (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs, HS) was stellar across the board, accumulating 28 assists, 17 digs, nine service aces and four kills. Freshman Kaylie Edgar (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS) landed one service ace, and recorded 21 digs for COD.
The Lady Roadrunners (8-9, 5-1) travel to San Bernardino next Wednesday, November 4 for a 5:30 p.m. Foothill Conference match.
