Women's Volleyball Picks Up Road Victory at San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - College of the Desert women's volleyaball overcame a loss to open the match by winning three consecutive sets in their 3-1 (18-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-22) road triumph over San Bernardino on Wednesday evening.

Freshman Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert, CA/Palm Desert HS) and sophomore Alyssa Cazares (Indio, CA/Shadow Hills HS) were deadly attackers for the Lady Roadrunners, drilling 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Sharp also added three digs and three total blocks (one solo, two assist), while Cazares recorded four digs and a solo block.
Sophomore Maygan Zink (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS), who was battling through a mild form of the plague, stuffed the stat sheet with 35 assists, 11 digs, seven aces and three total blocks (one solo, two assist). Freshman Kaylie Edgar (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS) was strong defensively for COD, accumulating 22 digs. Freshman Shay Mesa (Indio, CA/Shadow Hills) returned to action this evening, providing a solid boost of 10 digs and three service aces.
College of the Desert (9-9, 6-1) will be back in action Friday evening for a 5:30 p.m. Foothill Conference match at Victor Valley.
