COD (5-8, 1-1) needed a win to get back level in the PCAC race for first and found that cure in the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (5-12, 0-3), 25-17, 25-11 and 25-21.
COD dominated the first two sets, leaving the usually positive Wolverines trying to find a place to hide from the onslaught, but in the third set, things flipped for a moment. SBVC would take a surprising early lead and hold onto that lead throughout most of the third set, but the Roadrunners resiliency was front and center as they vanquished their opponents in a sweep.
Sophomore setter Angelica Sayo (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led the team with 21 assists and had 3 digs and sophomore outside hitter Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert H.S.) led the team with 13 kills and 5 digs.
Sophomore defensive specialist Shay Mesa (Indio Shadow Hills) led the team with 5 service aces and had 5 digs and freshman setter Jade Adair (Yucca Valley H.S.) had 8 assists and had a service ace.
Freshman middle blocker Marisol Ruiz (Thermal Desert Mirage) had 5 kills and 3 service aces and sophomore middle blocker Hannah LaLiberte (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 2 solo blocks and had 4 kills.
Sophomore libero Kaylie Edgar (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 13 digs on the evening.
The next home game for COD is when they continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play hosting Palomar, on Wednesday, October 19, game starts at 5 p.m.
