COD Women’s Volleyball: Sharp named CCCWVCA Scholar Athlete
College of the Desert women's volleyball player, sophomore outside hitter Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert H.S.), was named to the 2016 CCCWVCA Volleyball Scholar Athlete Team.
College of the Desert women's volleyball player, sophomore outside hitter Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert H.S.), was named to the 2016 CCCWVCA Volleyball Scholar Athlete Team.
Sharp was a first team All-Foothill Conference select her freshman year and a second team All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference her sophomore season. She was the leading scorer for the Roadrunners, with 242 kills on the season, 19 aces, and 15 solo blocks. She played in every match of the year, showing off her talent in an impressive match against Antelope Valley on September 28th, grabbing 22 kills, seven digs and an ace.
Recipients of this honor from the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) must have completed at least one season of volleyball, at least 24 units and have earned a 3.5 G.P.A. or higher. Sharp was one of 68 women to receive the honor across the entire state.
