Thomas Named 3CWVCA State Player of the Week After Historic Performance
College of the Desert sophomore outside hitter Clairie Thomas (La Quinta H.S.) has been named the 3CWVCA Week 10 State Player of the Week, earning statewide recognition after another dominant stretch in the Roadrunners’ historic season.
College of the Desert sophomore outside hitter Clairie Thomas (La Quinta H.S.) has been named the 3CWVCA Week 10 State Player of the Week, earning statewide recognition after another dominant stretch in the Roadrunners' historic season.
Thomas has been one of the most unstoppable attackers in California this year. The 5-foot-9 sophomore currently leads the entire state in:
*Kills per set: 5.07
*Total kills: 375
*Attacks: First player in the state to surpass 1,000 attempts this season
*Hitting percentage: A strong .260 while carrying a heavy offensive load
Thomas has reached double-digit kills in all 21 matches this year, showcasing unmatched consistency. Last week, she racked up 33 total kills across two Inland Empire Athletic Conference sweeps, hitting .357 with 19 kills and two aces over San Bernardino Valley, followed by 14 kills, 16 digs, two aces, and three blocks (two solo) against Cerro Coso.
Her all-around production continues to fuel COD's rise and has now earned statewide acclaim from the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association.
