COD Women’s Cross Country finishes 14th at GWC Classic
COD entered their second event of the 2017 season at Central Park in Huntington Beach for the Golden West Central Park Classic, where the team finished 14th overall on the 5k course.

COD entered their second event of the 2017 season at Central Park in Huntington Beach for the Golden West Central Park Classic, where the team finished 14th overall on the 5k course.
The Roadrunners finished with 335 points, outpacing Golden West College by 10 points.
Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Huntington Beach was freshman Brandie Lopez (La Quinta H.S.), collecting a 43rd place finish and a time of 23:04.25.
Close behind Lopez's finish was sophomore Lena Saucedo (Tampa (FL) Wingate De Academy), with a 46th place finish and a time of 23:08.62 and sophomore Maria Cruz Cuevas (Salton City West Shores) crossed the finish line at 26:36.72, good enough for 81st place.
Freshman Roberta Pineda (La Quinta H.S.) wrapped up an 82nd place finish with a time of 26:55.16 and and right on Pineda's heels was freshman Elisa Polanco (La Quinta H.S.), which wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 26:59.64, finishing in 83rd place.
Sophomore Stephanie Rosales (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Audrea Dayapera (La Quinta H.S.) finished 88th and 89th for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
