COD Women’s Cross Country finishes 11th at Mt. SAC Invitational
COD entered their fifth event of the 2017 season at Mount San Antonio in Walnut for the Mt. SAC Invitational, where the team finished 11th overall on the 5k course.

The Roadrunners finished with 277 points, outpacing Estrella Mountain Community College by 5 points.
Grabbing the top spot for Desert in Orange was freshman Brandie Lopez (La Quinta H.S.), collecting a 30th place finish and a time of 21:02.5.
Freshman Naibe Ruelas (Indio H.S.), dropped 1:13 from her effort last week, crossing the finish line at 21:36.9, good enough for 37th place and close behind Ruelas' finish was sophomore Lena Saucedo (Tampa (FL) Wingate De Academy), with a 52nd place finish and a time of 22:15.2.
Freshman Roberta Pineda (La Quinta H.S.) wrapped up a 78th place finish, with a time of 27:00.1 and freshman Karla Garcia (Palm Desert H.S.), wrapped up the top five for COD with a time of 30:12.0, finishing in 80th place.
Freshman Mellisa Casas (Indio H.S.) and sophomore Malia Sanchez (Palm Desert H.S.) finished 83rd and 84th for the Roadrunners on the afternoon.
