COD Men's Tennis overwhelms the Olympians, 9-0

COD (2-0; 2-0) continued Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play by hosting the San Diego Mesa Olympians (0-3; 0-1), 9-0.

In doubles play, the team of sophomore Kalman Boyd (Solana Beach Fusian Academy) and freshman Alex Kuperstein (Palm Desert H.S.) easily won, 8-0. The team of freshman Manfred Vogt (Mexico City (MX) Universidad Panamerican Preparatoria) and freshman Sebastian Gomez Romero (Palm Desert H.S.) only surrendered a point, winning 8-1. Completing the sweep of the Olympians in doubles play for Desert, the team of freshman Saar Rogovski (Rosh HaAyin (ISR) Menachem Begin) and freshman Syed Hosain (Abu Dhabi (UAE) GEMS American Academy) won 8-2.

In singles play, Kuperstein easily won in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-1 and Boyd overwhelmed his opponent, winning 6-0 and 6-0. Vogt swept his way to victory, winning, 6-0 and 6-0 and Rogovski won his first set easily, 6-2 and narrowly won the second set in a hard fought match, 6-5. Hosain breezed in his match 6-1 and 6-2 and Gomez Romero swept as the number six, winning 6-0 and 6-0.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be at San Jacinto on February 19th at 2p, where they will continue Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) by traveling to the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles.

College of the Desert defeated San Diego Mesa College, 9-0 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
