COD is back! After winning their first CCCAA State Title since 2011 on Wednesday, the Roadrunners turned their sights on securing a rare “Triple Crown,” by winning the Singles and Doubles titles, as a pair of Desert players faced each other for the Singles title, then teamed up to win the Doubles title.
College of the Desert’s No. 1 doubles erased a 5-1 deficit to win their set 8-6 on Wednesday and Manfred Vogt capped a dramatic 7-6 (7), 6-3 triumph with an ace serve that secured a 5-1 victory over Foothill in the CCCAA Men’s Tennis Team Final at the Pierpont Racquet Club.
The COD Men's Tennis team is back in the CCCAA State Championship match facing the NorCal Champs, the Foothill Owls on April 24th at 1 p.m. at the Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura.
COD (17-1; 12-0) made their way into the third round of CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs by knocking off #2 seed, the Irvine Valley Lasers (12-2; 8-0), 5-2.
COD wrapped up another wonderful season, which saw an undefeated record turn into plaques, as the Roadrunners won the Singles Title, the Doubles Title, the Coach of the Year award, the MVP Award and the Sportsmanship award.

COD (7-1) faced off against the California Lutheran University Kingsmen (3-3) on Sunday in a non-conference match, taking the win against the four-year University, 6-3.
COD (6-1; 6-0) faced their toughest opponent of the 2019 season, the Mesa College of Arizona Thunderbirds (4-2).
COD (5-0) defeated the Grossmont Griffins (3-6), 8-1, solidifying their place on top of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.
COD (2-0; 2-0) continued Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play by hosting the San Diego Mesa Olympians (0-3; 0-1), 9-0.
COD (1-0; 1-0) opened up the 2019 season by travelling to San Diego City (0-2; 0-1), capturing their first win in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC), 8-1.
