COD Men's Tennis blanks the Eagles, 9-0

COD (10-1; 9-0) claims ninth straight PCAC win by knocking off the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (3-8; 2-4).

In singles play for Desert, freshman Manfred Vogt (Mexico City (MX) took the win without allowing a single point from his opponent, finishing 6-0 and 6-0. Freshman Saar Rogovski (Rosh HaAyin (ISR) Menachem Begin) knocked off the Eagle in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-1. Freshman Sebastian Gomez Romero (Palm Desert H.S.) also took a win for the Roadrunners by blanking his opponent, 6-0 and 6-0. Freshman Sebastian Gomez Romero (Palm Desert H.S.)  permitted a single point for the Eagles, winning in straight set, 6-1 and 6-0. In a highly intense battle, freshman Andrew Limon (Indio Shadow Hills) outlasted his opponent, taking the match in a fourth set, 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, and 11-9. Desert was given the last singles win due to a forfeit by Mt. San Jacinto.

In doubles play for the Roadrunners, the team of Romero and Vogt did not allow the Eagles on the board, taking the win, 8-0. Claiming a win in a similar fashion, the team of Garcia and Rogovski also shut out the Eagles, winning 8-0.

The next match for College of the Desert Men's Tennis will be at home on March 25th at 2p, where they will face Division III University of California, Santa Cruz Banana Slugs. Hope to see you there!
