COD Women's Volleyball sweeps past the Coyotes, 3-0
COD (6-8; 1-2) grabbed their 6th sweep of the 2024 season, busting up their 6-game losing streak with a Conference road win, knocking off the Cerro Coso Coyotes of Ridgecrest (3-8; 0-2), 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-16).

The Roadrunners played against Cerro Coso for the first time in program history in 1977 and hold a 32-5 overall record against them. Desert has a 13-1 record against the Coyotes in Ridgecrest.
Sophomore outside hitter Alexia Siani-Rader (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led the team with 8 service aces and 11 digs, also grabbing 6 kills and sophomore setter Ashley Estrada (Queen Creek (AZ) American Leadership Academy) led the team with 24 set assists, also having 4 digs and an assist block. Sophomore middle blocker Stacie Alexander (Yucca Valley H.S.) had a solo block, an assist block, a service ace, 4 digs and 2 kills and freshman outside hitter Clairie Thomas (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 9 kills, also having 10 digs, a solo block, an assist block and a service ace. Sophomore outside hitter Bella Branconier (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) had 6 kills, 7 digs and a service ace and freshman middle blocker Alyssia Castro (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) had 3 kills and a solo block. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Amidei (Indio Shadow Hills) collected 6 digs.
The next match-up for the Roadrunners will be on Friday, October 4 at 5p as they continue Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) play by hosting the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville. The Roadrunners played against Victor Valley for the first time in program history in 1976 and hold a 21-41 overall record against them. Desert has a 13-18 record against the Rams at home. The Roadrunners split the season series with Victor Valley in 2023, each team winning their home contests.
