Under veteran head coach Jack Steptoe, in his 11th season leading the Roadrunners, COD finished the regular season with a record 4-6 overall and 3-2 in conference. The Roadrunners placed 3rd in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) American Division - Metro League.
The College of the Desert Football team (4–6; 3–2) wrapped up the 2025 season on a high note, edging out the Los Angeles Valley Monarchs (3–7; 2–3) in a 47–45 shootout in Valley Glen. The victory marked COD’s third consecutive win over the Monarchs and capped the season with several standout individual performances.
The College of the Desert Football team (3-4, 2-0) remained unbeaten in conference play with a commanding 64-6 victory over winless Compton (0-7, 0-2), marking the Roadrunners’ most lopsided win since 2018.
College of the Desert freshman linebacker Ayden Ogilvie (Twentynine Palms H.S.) has been named the SCFA Week 6 Defensive Player of the Week, following a dominant performance that helped rewrite Roadrunner history.
College of the Desert (2-4; 1-0) held on for a nail-biting 24-23 victory over the Los Angeles Southwest Cougars (1-5; 0-1), stopping a late two-point conversion attempt with 95 seconds remaining to secure their first conference win, and first home win, of the season. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak and marked COD’s first home triumph over LA Southwest since 1985.
Despite big plays on both sides of the ball, College of the Desert football (1–2) came up short at home, falling to the West Los Angeles Wildcats (2–1) by a score of 41–29 on Saturday night.

COD (2-8; 2-3) had a “Pick-6” to open the game and another in the 2nd quarter, as the Roadrunners knocked off Santa Ana for the 1st time in program history, defeating the Dons (7-3; 3-2), 34-7.
COD (1-7; 1-2) moved the ball well on offense, but nearly 120 yards in penalties paired with 3 interceptions and short field opportunities for the visitors proved overwhelming for the defense, as the Roadrunners fell to the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville (3-5; 3-0), 27-26.
COD (1-5; 1-0) used a strong running game and a dominating defense, the Roadrunners grabbed their first win of the season, knocking off the winless Compton Tartars (0-5; 0-1), 28-8.
COD (0-2) dropped a heartbreaker in their 2024 home opener, two long touchdown runs called back on holding penalties and a fumbled punt return proved to be too much, falling to the Los Angeles Pierce Brahmas of Woodland Hills (2-2), 35-29.
Since helming the program in 2014, Jack Steptoe has led the Roadrunners to three Bowl games. This season, Desert went 6-4 overall and 3-2 in American Division - Metro League play, which was good enough to secure a third-place finish.
COD Football will travel to the Santa Ana Dons on Sunday, November 19 for a 4 p.m. kick off in the 2023 Southern California Bowl.
COD (6-3; 3-1) rolled to their sixth win of the season, making the Roadrunners bowl eligible as the home side took an early lead and never looked back in a lopsided win over the West Los Angeles Wildcats of Culver City (1-8; 1-3), 51-20.
