A key piece of the Roadrunners’ success on both hardwood and sand is headed to the desert heat of Arizona.
College of the Desert is proud to announce that two-sport standout Ashley Estrada has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Park University Gilbert in Arizona.
Under the tutelage of nine-year veteran head coach head coach Detlev Rothe, Desert finished the regular season with a record 13-10 overall and 8-4 in conference. The Roadrunners placed 3rd in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC).
COD (13-10; 8-4) ended the 2024 season on a high note, sweeping their final four matches including their 12th sweep of the season, knocking off the Copper Mountain Fighting Cacti of Joshua Tree (0-20; 0-12) 3-0 (25-4, 25-11, 25-3).
COD (12-10; 7-4) celebrated Sophomore Night in front of a large crowd, grabbing their 11th sweep of the season, knocking off the Chaffey Panthers of Rancho Cucamonga (6-13; 5-5) 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-22).
COD (10-10; 5-4) grabbed career highs for several players, as Desert grabbed their 9th sweep of the season, knocking off the Cerro Coso Coyotes of Ridgecrest (4-13; 1-7) 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-16).
COD (7-8; 2-2) fought back from being down in the fourth set to grab their 7th win of the season, as Desert knocked off the Victor Valley Rams of Victorville (7-4; 1-2), 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23).
COD (6-8; 1-2) grabbed their 6th sweep of the 2024 season, busting up their 6-game losing streak with a Conference road win, knocking off the Cerro Coso Coyotes of Ridgecrest (3-8; 0-2), 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-16).
COD (4-1) continued their road trip to kick off 2024 and grabbed their fourth sweep of the season, defeating the Imperial Valley Desert Warriors, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-21).
COD (3-1) opened up the 2024 season at the Eagles Tournament at LA Mission College in Sylmar, grabbing 3 wins, all by way of the sweep.
